Second edition of the book on Local Self-Government Models in the region

PALGO Center

The book contains practices from Denmark (author Dragan Milinkovic), Slovenia (author Zlata Plostajner), Croatia (author Nives Kopajtich-Skrlec), FRY Macedonia (author Goran Angelov) and BiH (author Zdravko Zlokapa), together with the comparative overview.
Since the whole set of legislation related to local self-government has been recently changed in Serbia, this new edition includes the article on local self-government in Serbia (author Dusan Vasiljevic) in the changed legal environment.

The book gives an overview of all regional initiatives in the field of local self-government, and Denmark stands here as an example of the Scandinavian welfare model, i.e. a pragmatic approach to local self-government decentralization and organization.

The book was originally published by the Development Agency EDA (www.edabl.org) from Banjaluka (BiH), in September 2007.

This project is supported by the Fund for an Open Society (Belgrade)

Project period: December 1, 2007 to February 15, 2008
