Development Strategy of Belgrade municipality of Savski venac
NICEF and PALGO Center
Following the municipal decisions, adopted by the Assembly of Belgrade municipality of Savski venac, PALGO Center and Centre for Scientific Research of the Faculty of Economics (NICEF), in cooperation with the authorities of Savski venac, will draft the Development Strategy for this municipality. This kind of methodical document will determine the orientation, priorities, actions and responsibilities during the implementation of the Strategy. Together with relevant representatives of all three sectors (public, private and civil), a planning document designating direction of municipal development, priorities, activities focused on action, will be composed.
Many relevant stakeholders (private sector and NGOs), citizens and institutions will take part in the process of strategic planning, thus securing qualitative contribution in drafting the Development Strategy. With this strategic plan, in accordance with the existing planning documents at the City and central level, and at the level of the countries of South-East Europe, all previous existent City and municipal planning documents will be linked. Development Strategy, as an umbrella document, will conjoin and assort information relevant for development of the Belgrade municipality of Savski venac.
While drafting the Development Strategy of Savski venac municipality, PALGO Center and NICEF will conduct a SWOT analysis, define strategic goals and outline vision of development by presented draft versions at meetings and workshops. In this way, the members of the municipal Committee for strategic plan preparation will be able to discuss them and modify them before the adoption of the final version.
The final goal is to have the Development Strategy approved by municipal Assembly, including the implementation plan and the financial viability scheme. Components of the strategic document: economic development, communal infrastructure and environmental protection, social development and citizen participation, governance and municipal identity, will be elaborated in detail.
